Location
The Netherlands
The Netherlands is a small flat country in North-Western Europe, which lies mostly below sea level. Despite it's size and small population, it has produced quite a number of famous physicists: Hendrik Antoon Lorentz (namesake of the Lorentz contraction), Heike Kamerlingh Onnes (the first to liquify helium), and Gerard 't Hooft (winner of the 1999 Nobel Prize in Physics, main patron of the ICPS 2012).
Accommodation
Participants will stay at different facilities near the university campus, 'de Uithof', in Utrecht, where the conference will take place.
Travel Information
If you arrive at Amsterdam International Airport, Utrecht can be easily reached by train in roughly half an hour. Utrecht Central Station is one of the main Dutch railway stations and therefore is easily accessible by train. All conference facilities are within cycling distance.
Universities
The ICPS 2012 will take place at two of the finest Dutch universities: Utrecht University and the University of Twente (located in the city of Enschede). Although participants will be staying in Utrecht, one day of the conference will be spent entirely in Twente. Transportation to and from there will be by bus.
